• MLK Lasting Legacy Campaign ($25,000). This MLK Jr holiday marks the 25th anniversary of A Day of Service that celebrated the civil rights leader's life and legacy. Donate $26 or more to the Center. Proceeds will benefit MLK's Food Bank. Text MLKJR2021 to 44321, go to this link or mail a check to MLK Center to 500 S Stone St, Spokane, WA 99202. Jan & Feb        • MLK Wisconsinburger Fund Raiser – purchase "Grind of the Week" and Wisconsinburger will donate $1 to the Martin Luther King Jr Center, 916 S Hatch St., 11:30 a.m.  to 9 p.m., Monday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday – 241-3083 or 868-0856, mlkspokane.org.

Jan 14  • SCC MLK Celebration
"So You Want to Talk About Race"
virtual presentation with author Ijeoma Oluo,livestream at scc.spokane.edu/live, 10:30 to 11:20 a.m., Center for Inclusion and Diversity, Black Student Union, President's Office, Hagan Center, Student Awareness League at SCC and SFCC Black Student Union.

Jan 14-19        • MLK Canvas Painting on the theme, "Diversity, Equity & Inclusion," pick up 24 x 30 canvas at Martin Luther King Jr Center, 500 S. Stone, and return by Feb. 25. Art will be displayed on a wall in the center, mlkspokane.org or call 868-0856. Painting should be based on the theme or a portrait of Dr. King.

Jan 15  • MLK Food Drive Drop Off , 500 S. Stone, 10 a.m.  to noon or 3 to 4 p.m. The Food Bank needs brown rice, whole wheat pasta noodles and whole wheat bread. Drive into the parking lot, park in a parking spots and a staff member will pick up the items, 868-0856 or mlkspokane.org.

Jan 18-28        • MLK Day – Run for Justice 5K Virtual Race
Go to Run for Justice 5K Virtual Race and register. Run or walk 5k (3.1 miles) any time or place—your neighborhood, trail or treadmill.
