Die-In' evokes recognition of loss of lives in war
The Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane with other area organizations held a peace rally and die-in to mark the third anniversary of the start of the War in Iraq.

50 of about 300 gathered for the rally sat or laid down on the ground in a symbolic action.
The Raging Grannies sand a song reminder that the children of Iraq have names and are not just “collateral damage.”
Some speakers expressed frustration that opposition to the war seems to fall on deaf ears and concern that corporations and corruption are having undue influence on policies.

Rusty Nelson, director of PJALS, said the goal was for the protest to help people transform themselves so they would transform their communities to transform the systems.
“We need to think creatively and wisely, opposing structures destroying the planet,” he said.
